EMBARAMBAMBA IS YOUR CREATION
The internet has been buzzing with a video of Embarambamba going round the social media depicting him having a rather off the tune kind of dance in a club. It has left many talking. Several bigWigs and smallwigs alike have been on his throat castigating him for "crossing the line" as per the Deputy Jesus of our times Ezekiel Mutua the creative content judge.
Some went as far as comparing it with Willy Paul's incident sometimes back where he captured the attention of netizens in rather compromising dance position with a lady. Many feels that Embarambamba is overdoing his dancing theatrics but I think we have been entertaining and cheering on this overzealous man's artistry. Although it might have been an intentional stance in the begining,he realised people are amused by it and focused his energy there. We have given him the courage, the go ahead nod to do all this for our own memes, fun and amusement which in effect has consumed his character and overshadowed the music part.
If at all the Kenyan media industry is up to the task of building the right artist who can be epitomised by the younger generation and creation of "clean"content as they purport, they would have mentored Embarambamba and shown the proper way to channel his energy without going off the lane. But we only took it as far as internet and never really reached out to him as a person. Now his side shows have gone full-blown.
We gave him a platform without understanding his nature. I think it will be prudent if we stop all the scathing backlash we are directing on him and instead mentor him to use his talent in accordance to the dictates of the society virtues. He is our creation and we must find a way of helping him bring the best of himself without going off the tune or being "gross" as they have termed his actions.
My opinion though
